Take it step by step

Planning a successful International Relocation is a methodical process, but in the end, getting the details right will ensure the productivity of the placement.
By means of preparation, our consultants work through the following steps with the potential assignee:

Check List

We provide the step-by-step information needed when preparing for an international assignment. Our program has been designed to enable the assignee to confront any fears of the unknown he or she may have.  With pre-departure concerns behind them, the assignee and family can then begin the relocation process in a positive, organised and well-informed fashion. Topics include:

  • Pre-move activities and costs
  • Logistics, people and environment
  • Housing and education
  • Medical and transportation
  • What to bring, what to leave behind and items which are unavailable/ difficult to find in the new country.

LookSee

The LookSee program is designed to introduce and prepare the assignee for life in a new environment. After assessing the employee’s needs, Orientations will, where possible, introduce a Consultant of a similar background and nationality. The Consultant creates an itinerary that addresses their specific questions and priorities. Topics include:

  • Accommodation
  • Education
  • Security & Banking
  • Medical Care
  • Pet importation and quarantine procedures
  • Local shopping, groceries, and fresh produce
  • Furniture (purchase / rental)
  • Religion
  • Social life and recreation

Resource materials include: street map, published guidebooks, checklist of pre-move countdown activities and documents, custom requirements and import duties, and suggested reading list.
